DP Seals are a British manufacturer of high-quality custom rubber seals, gaskets, and mouldings. Their products are used in a variety of industries, from agriculture to aerospace, and are renowned for their exceptional performance - they’ve even been used as a component in Formula One car engines!

INDUS Engineering have had a close working relationship with DP Seals for a number of years. Aside from various smaller jobs, we carried out a major refurbishment to their Hamworthy factory in 2021: we rewired their electronics, re-sited many rooms, and replaced their entire lighting system, bringing their factory up to modern standards.

The Project

Early in 2023, DP Seals reached out to us about an issue with one of their machines.

Their hydraulic press was over 30 years old, and the components in its control system had long since become obsolete. The system had also undergone a number of modifications over the years it had been in service, all of which had been carried out by different companies. This made maintaining and repairing it very difficult.

They tasked us with switching out their existing hydraulic press control panel with a custom-made replacement. Aside from running more efficiently, the new panel could be repaired with replacement parts that were much easier to source, making maintenance faster and more affordable.

After evaluating their current system, we devised a working solution that would fulfil their specific requirements. We built their new panel using components from leading manufacturers, including Siemens, Eaton, and Schneider, prioritising reliability and ease of maintenance in its design.

The End Result

Once we had finished manufacturing the control panel, we visited DP Seals’ factory to install it onto the hydraulic press. Their engineers were left with a dependable, performance-optimised machine that would allow them to spend less time on maintenance, and more time on creating the high-quality products the company is known for.
